The Orlando Runners Club (ORC) was established in 1976 by a group of running enthusiasts including Jon Hughes, Richard Bates, Tracy Dent, Terry Smith, and Dana Flugel. Over the years, the club has been instrumental in promoting a healthy running lifestyle through various initiatives such as the Middle School Mile and Kids on the Run programs. As part of its commitment to fostering international running connections, the ORC participates in the Sister City program with Urayasu, Japan, selecting two runners annually to compete in the Tokyo Bay Half Marathon.
