Traprock 50

The Traprock 50 is a challenging trail running event featuring a scenic loop course of approximately 10.5 to 11 miles per loop, held on the rugged Metacomet Trail with 50% technical single track and rolling forest roads. Offering two race options—a 17K one-loop race starting at 9:30 AM and a demanding 50K three-loop race beginning at 8:30 AM with a 9-hour cutoff—this event tests both physical fitness and mental endurance, ideal for experienced runners who have completed recent marathons. Organized by the CT Trailmixers, a dedicated nonprofit trail running club in central Connecticut, the race supports local conservation efforts including the Simsbury Land Trust and Connecticut Forest & Parks Association. Participants should bring their own hydration as the race is cupless to reduce waste, and chip timing will return in 2026. Registration includes a waitlist system managed on a first-come, first-served basis, with a 50% refund available for cancellations before March 1.
