Join the excitement at the 57th annual Thornton Turkey Trot, Illinois' oldest Turkey Trot, set to take place on November 27, 2025, in Glenwood, Cook County. This iconic event offers a vibrant atmosphere and a range of race options, including a 1-Mile Kids Run and a 5K Community Run. The day begins with packet pickup at 8:00 AM, followed by the Kids Run and Community Walk at 9:00 AM, leading up to the highly anticipated 5K at 9:30 AM. Established in 1968, this historical race draws elite runners from the south suburbs, providing a fantastic way to stay active before Thanksgiving celebrations. Participants can engage in a team competition for high schools, requiring just three athletes to earn points. All proceeds support the Winged Foot Foundation, benefiting student-athletes in Chicago.
