The Naturalist Trail Race - 25 / 50k, part of the Outdoor 76 FALL CELEBRATION, returns on October 4, 2025, offering a challenging yet exhilarating experience for trail running enthusiasts. Embark on a journey through the historic trails once explored by William Bartram, "The Naturalist", in the late 1700s. Starting from downtown Franklin, NC, at 8am, runners will tackle the demanding course leading to Wayah Bald, with the 50k route boasting over 8,500 feet of climbing. Featuring multiple aid stations stocked with essentials, including water and snacks, this epic race is limited to 150 participants. Post-race festivities include live music, craft beer, and food trucks, ensuring a memorable celebration. With time cut-offs in place for safety, participants are encouraged to carry sufficient water and abide by race guidelines.
