Rutgers Big Chill 5k 2025

Join the Rutgers Big Chill 5K on December 13, 2025, in New Brunswick, Middlesex, for a festive and charitable running event that has been a cherished Rutgers University tradition since 2003. This year’s race begins at 10 AM at the College Avenue Gym, with in-person check-in available the afternoon before and the morning of the event. Participants will enjoy a scenic 5K run while supporting a meaningful cause by bringing a new toy valued at $10 or more for local children in need. Registration is limited to 3,250 runners, so secure your spot early to be part of this impactful experience. For added flexibility, virtual participation is available from December 8 to December 15, allowing runners to complete the 5K at their preferred location, complete with a printable bib and optional commemorative t-shirt. Last year’s event raised over $8,000 for the No Hungry Knights Fund, addressing food insecurity on campus.
