Running Of The Elves

Join the festive celebration at the 6th annual Running of the Elves on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, in Hillsborough, Orange. This unique one-mile, chip-timed race starts at 4:00 PM on Mitchell Street and finishes outside the Historic Courthouse on Churton Street, offering runners an exciting downhill course in front of thousands of enthusiastic spectators just before the Hillsborough Holiday Parade. Participants are encouraged to dress in Elf-themed attire, including t-shirts, hats, and bells, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere. Race gear can be picked up on Saturday, December 6th at the Farmers Market Pavilion or on race day near the start line. With a $20 entry fee, this family-friendly event welcomes runners, friends, and pets to experience holiday cheer, community spirit, and unforgettable memories at the Running of the Elves.
