Run the Red Desert

Experience the annual Run the Red Desert ultra-marathon, a unique celebration of Wyoming's Red Desert landscape, featuring loop courses starting and finishing at the historic South Pass City. Organized by the Lander Running Club in collaboration with The Wyoming Wilderness Association, this event showcases the rugged beauty of the Red Desert, with runners traversing the remote high desert steppe ecosystems and enjoying views of the iconic Continental Peak and Oregon Buttes. Participants can choose between the challenging 50 KM and 25 KM races, both offering a wild wilderness experience sprinkled with historical charm. The event also includes a fun Kids Race for young participants.
