Kiwanis Independence 5k

Join the festive atmosphere at the Kiwanis Independence 5K, a cherished Charlottesville tradition since 1983! Taking place from July 1 to July 7, 2025, in Albemarle County, this event welcomes participants of all ages and skill levels. The race starts at Hollymead Elementary School, offering a scenic route through lovely neighborhoods and trails. With over $140,000 raised for local charities, including Salvation Army’s Camp Rappahannock and Charlottesville Community Bikes, your involvement not only ensures a great time but also supports important causes. Be sure to attend the packet pickup on July 3rd at Lakeside Middle School or on race day from 6:30 AM onwards.
