First-gen 5k

Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the inaugural First-Gen 5K Run for Opportunity on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, at 7:30 AM in Ocala, Marion. This chip-timed 5K event celebrates community, support, and the journey of first-generation college students. Starting from the Baseline Road Trailhead, participants can challenge themselves while connecting with local businesses, leaders, and families passionate about education. Finishers will receive a medal and a First-Gen 5K shirt. With age divisions for all, awards await the top finishers in each category. Enjoy drinks, a live DJ, and support the First Generation Foundation, Vida Valiente Foundation, and local scholarship initiatives. Join us in running with purpose and making a difference!
