CWES - Thunder Mountain Loop
Experience the thrill of the CWES - Thunder Mountain Loop, a unique trail running event in the Cascadian Wilderness Endurance Series. This self-supported adventure contest invites outdoor enthusiasts to explore the untamed beauty of Monumental Creek Trail, Cougar Basin Trail, Big Creek Trail, and Lookout Mtn Ridge Trail in Idaho. Participants can choose between a challenging 50-mile route with 7,200 feet of climbing or a shorter 25-mile option with 5,300 feet of elevation gain. Unlike traditional races, this event emphasizes personal exploration and multimedia storytelling, encouraging participants to share their journey through trip reports, social media posts, videos, and photos. With no course markings or aid stations, participants have the freedom to create their own adventure either solo or with friends. There are no cutoff times, allowing everyone to complete the route at their own pace. Join the CWES community on Facebook and Instagram for trail beta, camaraderie, and event updates. By registering for this endurance challenge, you not only embark on a physical and mental test but also contribute to trail maintenance efforts in wilderness areas. Don't miss the chance to immerse yourself in the rugged landscapes of the Northwest and connect with like-minded outdoor enthusiasts.
